AFTERCARE FOR
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
After Care Guide
So you've just had your laser hair removal treatment, and now the job of caring for your skin begins. Here are some steps to help you make sure that you get the best results from your treatment:
-
Immediately after treatment, you make experience slight swelling and redness in the areas treated. This is completely normal and will usually subside within 24 hours. You should apply a cold compress to the treated area to help reduce swelling and discomfort.
-
Avoid direct exposure to sunlight for two weeks after treatment, as this can increase the risk of skin irritation or discolouration. If you need to go out in the sun, wear protective clothing and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
-
Please do not wax or pluck your hair between treatments, as laser hair removal is most effective when done on hairs that are still in the follicle. Shaving is allowed, but use caution and avoid shaving too close to the treated areas, as this can cause irritation or infection.
-
Avoid makeup, lotions and moisturisers on the treated area for at least 24 hours after treatment. If necessary, gentle cleansing with mild soap and water is allowed. If you experience any side effects or irritation.
-
Keep the treated area moist by applying a Medi-Soothe (post-laser gel) at least once a day (after showering is ideal). This will help soothe and protect your skin from irritation or itching.
-
The treated area may be washed gently with mild soap with lukewarm water. This skin should be patted dry and not rubbed with a towel.
-
After 7 Days of your treatment, you are encouraged to exfoliate the treated area on a weekly basis using an exfoliating mitt, brush and Bodi Scrub by Therapi. This will help prevent ingrown hairs.
-
Avoid any Heat Treatments such as Solariums, saunas and hot baths for at least 2 weeks after treatment. Do not use Perfumed/ Alcohol based products or fake tanning products in the area. Avoid picking the treated area, as this may cause scarring, infection or darkening of the skin.
We are dedicated to providing an exceptional standard of care, and we will work with you to ensure you are completely satisfied with your results.
